Episode 19 – Election Debrief

Recorded live via KPISS.FM, in which Otterpup joins us as we get uncharacteristically serious and imbue or sex podcast with political meaning. We do a post-inauguration debrief and talk about how the Victator got the wind knocked out of her, Gayle got frenzied, and Otterpup decided he’s not a centrist after all, while his parents stepped up guns-a-blazing to take a stand for gay rights, Gayle’s pessimism, if the Trump presidency is validating bigotry and shaking some people out of their comfortable belief in prograss, Also: Gayle and Otterpup come out as an immigrants, an unexpected uptick in Hong Kong listeners, and why we want to keep talking about butt-plug sizes and the finer points of gender identity despite it all.

Episode 13: Cruising

Recorded live via KPISS.FM, in which we’re joined by Lia, the founder of a nearly 1800 person strong online queer cruising group and Greta Narbo, sex party enthusiast and data wonk, as in the wake of the Pulse shooting in Orlando we discuss safer spaces and how — if at all — they can be maintained, what “queer” means when the number of groups under the umbrella seems to be forever growing (is the umbrella contextual?), how picking fights on social media is a great way to blow off steam, sex fantasies on the elliptical, solidarity vs. butthurt and how we all fuck up, plus Lia cruises our listeners. Orlando

Isaac Fornarola, former LLiNYC cohost, recently said: “All I can think of are the victim’s last words in a text to his mother: ‘He’s in the bathroom with us.’

Is this not the summary of our year in this fight for equality?

Turns out cis straights and queers have the same nightmare. ‘He’s in the bathroom with us.’ The difference is that ours comes true.”

We at Livin’ and Lovin’ in NYC are heartbroken by the massacre at Pulse in Orlando. Our hearts go out to the victims’ loved ones, the LGBTQ+ community, the queer Puerto Rican community, the queer Latinx community, queer people of color, and the people of Orlando.

Best of Year One – Part One

In celebration of our one year anniversary, we’ve put together our favorite moments so far. Part one: from our first six episodes, in which we introduce ourselves and tell you not to take our advice, the Victator discusses her homoflexible love for George Costanza, we discuss the SCOTUS ruling for marriage equality, our kpiss.fm station head tells the tale of tinderBNB, we describe a new way of thinking about cunnilingus, NuBritt recounts her sexy Italian adventure, Isaac describes his transition and no longer accepting what’s “fine,” and the Victator shamelessly hits on a guest. Part two will be up next week. NEW EPISODES COMING SOON.
